I Think, Therefore I Create

It is interesting that it seems more and more that education continues to be a process of filling up the metaphorical cup of knowledge within a student, see how much they can hold before an spill or leaks out, and then ask them to walk the length of a football field on a tightrope hovering over alligators as fast as possible so they can dump it out and then return the process back the other direction.  As much as it is discussed how education supports and scaffolds to help students cross this treacherous ravine, the basic concept of tapping off the student in hopes they can hold the last drop of fluid (knowledge) is still the lasting model within the system.  Even though many strategies and pedagogies exist and are still innovated to allow for students to interact and reveal what they know and learn, this model continually pushes its way back into the present. No matter how many new philosophies and theories creep into the educational field, it seems as though many legislato...

Chaos; the beauty of destruction and creation

The events that unfolded this past week have shrouded this country, policy makers, trend setters and overall opinion of the inhabitants of this land filled with doubt, fear and uncertainty.  The storming of the capitol building by civilians on Wednesday afternoon was more than a discussion about racial preference, but more as a delineation of control for the have's and have not's.  The actions viewed by millions, no billions of people, only reinforced the division that is implored by the powers that be to drive a wedge between the populous of this country and those whom say they choose to make decisions that are for our own best good.  The irony is that many would describe this event and such like it as chaos, yet that term has to be fully explained and embraced for us to truly conceptualize the benefit of these actions and long-term results.   The destruction aspect of chaos is a well understood motif, but the after effects of creation and growth are less known...

Book Preview - Clip of the Introduction

When I woke up, I decided to write all this down.  What started as a way to take my mind off what transpired in my life had become an obsession of inquiry and methodology for me to comprehend the new path that I was forced to take and to evaluate, with cognizance, the direction of my journey.  Why did this happen? What was really going on? Am I in a dream?  I was supposed to be married, till death do us part, and now a giant “pause” button has been hit upon my life. That program was deleted from the queue never to be watched again.   When you get married, you think it will be forever even though the data suggests that 50% of all marriages end in divorce; you believe that will not be you.  But here I am now, as a 43-year-old divorcee, who put his life back together as I healed, cleansed and commiserated over the actions that have placed me in this position.  So, I poured through books, online journals, YouTube talks and presentatio...
